Hockey Helmet

Hockey Helmet

The main functional purpose of a hockey helmet is to protect the player's head from injury. The helmet should be light and fasten well. The helmet is made of high-quality plastic. On its inner side, there is a special gasket that softens the force of the impact. All men under the age of eighteen are required to play in helmets with a metal grid "visor" (and women - always). After eighteen, the "removal" is allowed to be changed to a clear plastic visor (high-strength transparent polycarbonate face protection that is attached to the front of the helmet). The visor should be located vertically and cover the eyes and part of the nose.

Unlike other equipment (for example, shields or elbow pads), the color of the helmet must match the rest of the uniform. All players of each of the playing teams must wear helmets of the same color (except the goalkeeper). The main color should be about 80% of the color of each part of the shape. Standard and most common in retail are black, white, red and blue. Other colors usually involve a team or individual order.

The size of the helmet has a letter designation. There are three basic and two additional sizes of hockey helmets. Depending on the specific model and manufacturer, slight differences in the size scale are possible. This is how the somewhat generalized table looks like: the main sizes are S (52-57 cm), M (55-60 cm), L (58-63 cm); additional sizes - XS (50-55 cm), XL (62-65 cm).
