The German company Adidas is one of the world's leading manufacturers of sportswear, founded in 1924 by the Dassler brothers as "Dassler". The current name arose in 1948, after the Dassler brothers broke off relations with each other and created their own companies.
Adidas comes from the first three letters of the nickname of Adolf's younger brother "Adi" and the first three letters of the surname (Das) of the company's founder, Adolf Dassler (Adolf Dassler).
